Job description
The Role
We are looking for a UK Personal Tax Executive / Senior to support the preparation and delivery of UK Self Assessment tax returns.
You will work with UK-based colleagues on a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, supporting the preparation of tax returns, reviewing client information, and helping ensure work is delivered accurately and on time.
This role would suit someone with existing UK personal tax experience, or a strong tax background who is keen to specialise in UK personal tax within a growing international team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare UK Self Assessment tax returns
- Work with employment income, rental income, business income, dividends, interest, pensions and capital gains tax matters
- Collate, review and analyse client documentation
- Prepare accurate tax computations and supporting working papers
- Ensure work is completed in line with HMRC deadlines and internal quality standards
- Liaise with UK-based teams to resolve queries and obtain missing information
- Identify potential tax issues and escalate where appropriate
- For senior candidates, support review work, coaching and team development where required
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience in personal tax, direct tax, income tax or similar tax compliance work
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good analytical skills and ability to work with financial information
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work during busy periods
Desirable
- Experience preparing UK personal tax returns
- Experience with employment income, rental income, business income and capital gains tax
- Experience using CCH Personal Tax or similar UK tax software
- Exposure to UK accounting firms, UK clients or international tax work
- CA / ACCA / ATT / CTA / equivalent qualification, or working towards one
- Review experience or team handling experience for senior-level candidates
